Professional Summary

Hands-on technician with professional marine diagnostics experience and nearly a decade in carpentry. Trained in carpentry at Cape Cod Regional Technical High School; developed mechanical troubleshooting skills through increasingly complex repairs to personal vehicles. Brings practical fault isolation, customer communication, and independent electronics and embedded-systems project experience.

Professional Experience

Marine Mechanic - Northside Marina

Started October 2024 · Sesuit Harbor, East Dennis, Massachusetts

  • Diagnose no-start conditions and operating faults in gasoline and diesel marine engines; distinguish mechanical, electrical, and fuel-system causes.
  • Interpret diagnostic trouble codes alongside symptoms, test results, and service information to guide repairs.
  • Trace starting, charging, trim, and vessel-control faults with multimeters and diagnostic equipment; identify wiring and component failures.
  • Identify water-contaminated fuel and troubleshoot fuel delivery affecting engine starting and operation.

Carpentry & Handyman Business

Nearly a decade of carpentry experience overall

  • Started a handyman business with a friend after trade-school training; carried out residential carpentry, remodeling, installation, repairs, and finish work.
  • Planned materials, estimates, and work schedules; adapted to existing conditions and unexpected installation problems.
  • Communicated scope and progress with homeowners and reviewed completed work for quality.

Founder / DJ / Event Technician - DJ Phelix

Cape Cod & South Shore

  • Set up and operate sound, microphones, lighting, and signal routing; troubleshoot cabling, power, wireless, and equipment during live events.
  • Coordinate equipment logistics, timing, and technical needs with clients and venues.
  • Maintain event information and promotional materials; supply gig photos and videos, creative direction, and copy ideas for DJ Phelix.

Independent Technical Work

Automotive Repair - Personal Vehicles

Developed hands-on troubleshooting and repair skills by maintaining personal vehicles, progressing to major engine and clutch repairs. Used unfamiliar mechanical problems as learning opportunities, building a foundation for the move into professional marine service.

Music-Responsive Lighting Controller

M5Stack DJ Smart Hub | In development

Developing a touchscreen-controlled system that uses live audio to guide lighting effects and sends instructions wirelessly. The goal is to give a DJ one place to manage lighting and coordinate effects with the music, making lighting easier to control during a performance.

Wireless Upgrades for Event Lighting

ESP32 Smart-Light Retrofit | In development

Developing upgrades for existing rechargeable, color-changing event lights so they can receive wireless instructions while retaining a wired control option. The goal is to make the lights easier to coordinate as a group while preserving a wired backup connection.

Smarter Software for 3D Printing

Grand Master Slice | In development

Developing Grand Master Slice, software that turns a digital 3D design into instructions a printer can follow. The project builds on existing open-source software, with Windows build tools, printer-setting checks, and automated tests in place. The goal is to adapt printing to each part’s shape and purpose for better quality and fewer failed prints. Planned features include varying printing speed, heat, and the amount of plastic inside a part, cleaner print starts, and easier color or spool changes during printing.
